Generally speaking, individuals with a higher level of CR fitness have more stamina and have less risk of cardiovascular disease. Over 58 million Americans of all ages are currently diagnosed with at least one form of cardiovascular disease. Unfortunately, many others may go undiagnosed until it's too late.

Heart disease is still the number one killer of men and women in the United States. Among factors that contribute to your risk of heart disease, some are controllable and some are not. You cannot control your age, gender, or family history.
